Bowles Remains with Cottonmouths
The Columbus Cottonmouths of the Southern Professional Hockey League (SPHL) announced that they have re-signed former Union forward Sam Bowles for the upcoming season.
Bowles returns for his third season in Columbus. He came to the Snakes midway through the 2008-09 season, making an immediate impact. He registered 53 points in 44 games, and finished third on the Snakes roster in points, despite playing 16 fewer games. Last year, he started the season with the Missouri Mavericks of the CHL, but re-joined the Snakes in November, picking up 47 points in 52 regular-season games.
"Sam has the potential to be one of the leading scorers in the league," said head coach Jerome Bechard. "He had a sub-par year last season, but I expect him to rebound as we make some adjustments."
