Dutchmen Not Surprised

SCHENECTADY — “Ladies and gentlemen, you’re
first-place, unbeaten in league play, Union College Dutchmen.
Union hockey public address announcer Kierre Daniels can make that
statement Saturday night, when the Dutchmen take the ice against
Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, meeting the rival Engineers for
the fourth time this season.
While most observers around ECAC Hockey express some level of
surprise, ranging to disbelief, the Dutchmen enter the contest
tonight not only atop ECACH, but also unbeaten in their nine league
games at 6-0-3, having lost just four of 22 games (12-4-6) and
ranked No. 13 nationally.
