Boileau Named Candidate for Lowe's Senior CLASS Award

SCHENECTADY, NY - Senior forward Stephane Boileau was one of 20 student-athletes selected as a candidate for the Lowe's Senior CLASS Award, Lowe's announced on Wednesday.

Boileau, who carries a 3.89 GPA in neuroscience, was a finalist for the ECAC Hockey Student-Athlete of the Year award last season and made his second straight appearance on the ECAC Hockey All-Academic team. He won the Thomas Vanarden Dukehard award for the highest GPA on the men’s ice hockey team for the second consecutive season, and was named Union College’s junior Student-Athlete of the Year. He was also named to the 2010 ESPN the Magazine/CoSIDA Academic All-America At-Large Second Team.

The candidate class will be narrowed to 10 finalists midway through the regular season, and those 10 names will be placed on the official ballot. Ballots will be distributed through a nationwide voting system to media, coaches and fans, who will select one finalist who best exemplifies excellence in the four Cs of community, classroom, character and competition.
