Three Dutchmen Named All-League
ALBANY, NY -- Senior defenseman Mike Schreiber was named First
Team All-ECAC Hockey, while senior forward Mario Valery-Trabucco
was named second team. Freshman goaltender Keith Kinkaid was dubbed
to the third team and to the all-rookie team, the league announced
Tuesday.
Schreiber, a finalist for Best Defensive Defenseman, was named
First Team All-League, marking the second consecutive season the
Dutchmen has had a defenseman on the first team – Lane
Caffaro in 2008-09. This season Schreiber, a native of Sherwood
Park, Alberta, set a Union record for most points by a defenseman
with 28, which also leads the conference. He has posted a plus-23
rating is a candidate for the Hobey Baker.
Valery-Trabucco, who finished second in the league in scoring with
32 conference points, set the Dutchmen’s single season record
with 42 points and 21 goals. This season he has posted a plus-21
rating with two hat tricks and 12 multi-point games. Trabucco, a
native of Montreal, has been the InsideCollegeHockey.com National
Player of the Week (Feb. 9) and a three time ECAC Hockey Player of
the Week (Dec. 7, Dec. 14, Feb. 8). He is also a candidate for the
Hobey Baker.
Kinkaid received double recognition as a Third Team selection and
an All-Rookie Team pick. He is also a finalist for Goaltender of
the Year and Rookie of the Year. The Farmingville, NY native posted
an 11-6-2 record with a .905 save percentage. His honors this
season include being named to the Hockey Commissioners’
Association Honorable Rookie Mention of the Month for November, a
two time ECAC Hockey Goaltender of the Week (Nov. 30 and Feb. 22)
and a two time ECAC Hockey Rookie of the Week (Nov. 16 and Dec.
7).
The Dutchmen will host the quarterfinal round of the conference
tournament on Mar. 12-14. Each outing of the best-of-three series
