Hutchins Injured in Steelers Loss

The following article featuring former Union standout Jeff Hutchins appeared in the September 28 issue of the Yorkshire Post.

Sheffield Steelers' early-season woes continued with two defeats in the Elite League although there was greater concern over the condition of forward Jeff Hutchins after he was taken to hospital with a serious head injury.

The 31-year-old Canadian had to be treated on the ice following a 47th-minute collision in Sunday night's game against his former club Newcastle Vipers at the Metro Radio Arena.

The game was held up for 35 minutes as Hutchins was attended to by both club physios as well as attending doctors before paramedics arrived to stretcher him off and take him to a nearby hospital.
