Hutchins Gets Chance to Make Capital Gains

The following article featuring former Union standout Jeff Hutchins appeared October 24 on the Yorkshire Post Web site.

Forward Jeff Hutchins was handed a last-minute clearance in order to take an early chance to show Sheffield Steelers they were wrong to cut him from their roster.

The 31-year-old was released by Steelers head coach Dave Matsos almost two weeks ago and was snapped up by Scottish Elite League rivals Edinburgh Capitals earlier this week for what will be his second stint with the club.

Steelers management revealed on Friday that Hutchins was still officially contracted to them until October 26, as part of his two-week notice period. Initially Edinburgh decided that Hutchins would then have to wait until Sunday for his debut, on home ice against Hull Stingrays.
