ST. CLOUD, MN – Coming off a season-opening, weekend sweep of Maine, the Union College men’s ice hockey team takes to the road for the first time this season for a set of games at St. Cloud on Friday and Saturday. Fans can catch all the action on Teamline.cc and on WRUC 89.7 FM. Live stats for the contest can be seen on StCloudState.edu/athletics. Full weekend coverage will also be provided on unionathletics.tumblr.com and on twitter.com/unionhockey.

The Dutchmen are looking to go to 3-0 for the second time in program history and the first since the 2003-04 squad – head coach Nate Leaman’s first season – started 4-0. Union, which got goal scoring from eight different student-athletes to open the season, has produced a program-best 10 goals through two games. In all, 16 of the 20 players that saw action during the opening weekend registered a point.

Leading the offensive charge is junior forward John Simpson, who had two goals and an assist. For the second straight season, Simpson is off to a fast start. Last year he produced goals in Union’s first two contests en route to being named the New England Hockey Journal’s Player of the Week.
