SCHENECTADY — The difference between home ice and playing at
Clarkson is blatantly apparent for Union when perusing the recent
history between the two ECAC Hockey teams.
Union has lost six consecutive games in Potsdam, but the Dutchmen
are 3-0-1 in their past four against the Golden Knights at Messa
Rink, including last weekend's head-to-head showdown that clinched
home ice for the locals.
However, one other piece of history may bear even more scrutiny:
Union has never won a playoff series in the school's Division I
hockey history. That could all change this weekend when the
eighth-seeded Dutchmen host ninth seed Clarkson in a best-of-3
series.
