Dutchmen Recognized at Senior Appreciation Dinner

SCHENECTADY, NY – The 2009 Union Athletics Senior Appreciation Dinner recognized the achievements of 76 seniors and other individuals Thursday night at College Park. Among the honorees were Dutchmen standouts Matt Cook, Lane Caffaro and Adam Presizniuk.
Cook, the 2009 ECAC Hockey Student-Athlete of the Year, was the recipient of hte Senior Scholar Athlete of the Year Award. Cook shared the award with soccer and track athlete Chesea Hargis.
Caffaro received the William B. Jaffe '26 Athletic Award,
presented to the outstanding senior male student-athlete.
The Harold R. Moore Award winner was football's Chris Coney and
Presizniuk. This award, presented to the top male sophomore
athlete, was named in honor of a Union sophomore at the turn of the
century. Moore died on the football field at Columbia and his
passing helped lead to reforms in the sport and the creation of a
collegiate governing body now known as the NCAA.
