With Simeon Varlamov (lower body) still ailing, the Hershey Bears
signed goalie Kris Mayotte to a tryout contract. Mayotte, who has
gone 18-9-2 with a 2.70 goals-against average and .912 save
percentage this season for Johnstown (ECHL), practiced with Hershey
Wednesday.
"He looked good," Bears head coach Bob Woods said. Mayotte played
one game for Lowell in 2005-06.
The Washington Capitals reassigned Michal Neuvirth to Hershey,
according to AHL transactions, but that was only a paper move. Caps
goalie Brent Johnson (hip) may be facing surgery, according to The
Washington Post.
