Pensacola Acquires Mayotte
PENSACOLA, FL -- The Pensacola Ice Pilots have announced the acquisition of former Union goaltender Kris Mayotte from the Fresno Falcons. Mayotte fulfills the future considerations portion of an earlier trade during the season with the Falcons for Spencer Carbery. Carbery was claimed off waivers from the Ice Pilots and promptly traded to Fresno.
The 25-year-old Mayotte spent last season with the Falcons, appearing in 35 games. He had a record of 18-9-4 with a 2.97 GAA and a 0.901 save percentage. He also attended NHL Training Camp with the Washington Capitals.
Prior to joining the Falcons, he spent the 2006-07 season with Arizona of the CHL. Mayotte played in 5 games between San Diego and AHL's Lowell in the 2005-06 season after graduating from Union College in Schenectady, NY.
Mayotte, a six-foot, 180 pound native of Pittsburgh, PA, had a 2.69 GAA, 0.907 save percentage and 10 shutouts throughout his four year career at Union College.
