Coyle Signs with Arizona

PRESCOTT VALLEY, AZ-- The 2008 Central Hockey League Ray Miron President's Cup Champion Arizona Sundogs, in preparation for their third season, today announced the signing of two NCAA players for the 2008-09 campaign in forward Peter Cartwright and former Union standout Josh Coyle.

Coyle is a product of the NCAA, skating for four seasons with the Union College Dutchmen. In 104 contests, the 23-year-old from Brooklyn, Ohio notched 35 goals and assisted on 42 more for 77 points. During his junior year in 2006-07, the 5-foot-10, 185-pound forward led his team with a career-best 14 goals and notched career-bests in assists (17) and points (31).

After completing his four-year career at Union College in 2007-08, Coyle signed on with the ECHL's Cincinnati Cyclones for the remainder of the season, appearing in three games and registering one assist and four PIM.

"Peter and Josh are both fresh off completing four-year college hockey careers and their desire to play at the professional level immediately captured our attention," said Sundogs Head Coach and General Manager Marco Pietroniro. "Their youth and enthusiasm mirror characteristics we look for when building our team. Their addition reflects our continued commitment to developing young players and we're pleased to have them on board for the 2008-09 season."

With the additions of Cartwright and Coyle, the Sundogs have now come to terms with nine players in preparation for the 2008-09 season.
