Mayotte Named ECHL Goaltender of Week
PRINCETON, N.J. -- Johnstown Chiefs goaltender Kris Mayotte, who
played at Union, is the Rbk Hockey ECHL Goaltender of the Week for
Oct. 27-Nov. 2, the league announced.
The 25-year old had 34 saves in regulation and blocked all four
shots he faced in overtime before stopping five of six shooters in
the shootout for a 3-2 win at Wheeling on Saturday.
He then had 19 saves and an assist in a 4-2 win at Dayton on
Sunday to improve to 2-0-0 with a goals-against average of 1.92 and
a save percentage of .934.
Mayotte was 18-9-4 with a shutout, a goals-against average of 2.97
and a save percentage of .901 in 35 games for the Fresno Falcons in
2007-08.
He played in the ECHL as a rookie in 2005-06 and was 2-1-1 with a
goals-against average of 2.69 and a save percentage of .931 in four
games with San Diego. He also played in the AHL for Lowell in
2005-06 and in his only appearance stopped 22 shots in a 2-1 loss
to Manchester on Apr. 15.
