Glenn Returns to Finland to Championship Run

KalPa (Finland) announced Friday the signing of former St. Lawrence standout Ryan Glenn to a contract for the remainder of the 2011-12 season. Glenn joins KalPa after spending time in 2011-12 with Ilves Tampere (Finland) and EC Salzburg (Austria).

“We were looking for a physical game, and Ryan is able to meet the criteria very well. He has a good overview of the defense and is accustomed to playing big minutes,” says KalPa Managing Director Kimmo Kapanen.

Glenn returns to Finland where he spent seasons with Ilves Tampere (Finland). In 44 games with Ilves this season, he compiled five goals and nine assists. Overall, Glenn has appeared in 117 games with Ilves Tampere, registering 35 points, including 16 goals.

Glenn joined EC Salzburg in December 2011 and appeared in three playoff games.

Glenn has been competing in Europe since the start of the 2008-09 when he competed with Troja/Ljungby IF (Sweden). He also participated with Södertälje (Sweden) during the 2009-10 campaign.

Prior to arriving in Europe, Glenn spent four seasons competing in the American Hockey League (AHL) and East Coast Hockey League (ECHL). He played 161 games in the AHL and 103 games in ECHL.

The Port Coquitlam, British Columbia native was a four-year standout at St. Lawrence (2000-04). In 145 collegiate contests, Glenn scored 18 goals and registered 38 assists. His top offensive campaign came in his senior season when he scored times and set up 22 tallies.
