WILMINGTON — The last few days have been a headlong rush for Rich Peverley, the newest of the three new Bruins acquired in last week’s trade trifecta.
Friday, the 28-year-old was a center for the Atlanta Thrashers, in a locker room in Phoenix, getting ready for a game against the Coyotes. Yesterday, he was in another locker room, getting ready for another practice, but this time it was Ristuccia Arena and the guys in the room were his new Bruin teammates. Thirteen of them are forwards, which will leave one sitting on the sideline when the next game starts.
Bruins coach Claude Julien has a few days to settle on new line combinations, as the team’s next game is tomorrow in Calgary. Peverley and one of the other new Bruins, 30-year-old Chris Kelly, acquired from Ottawa Tuesday, both can play center or wing.
