Bruins Cup Rewind (Video): Peverley's First Goal Sparks Road Win
The following article and video featuring former St. Lawrence standout Rich Peverley appeared August 19 on the New England Sports Network (NESN) Web site.
The Bruins made noise at the NHL trade deadline when they acquired Tomas Kaberle from the Maple Leafs, but it was a pair of smaller pick-ups that made a bigger impact on the team down the stretch and into the playoffs.
The Bruins dealt Blake Wheeler and Mark Stuart to Atlanta in exchange for forward Rich Peverley (and don't forget Boris Valabik) just before the deadline in an attempt to bolster the team's speed and offense. Peverley didn't wait long to prove his worth, as he lit the lamp in one of his first Bruins games, giving the Bruins what would eventually be the game-winner in a game against Edmonton.
With the win, the B's extended their then-season-high winning streak to five games in the midst of what was a season-turning road trip throughout North America.
