Peverley Traded to Boston
BOSTON -- The Boston Bruins have acquired former St. Lawrence standout Rich Peverley, along with Boris Valabik, from the Atlanta Thrashers in exchange for Blake Wheeler and Mark Stuart.
Peverley, 28, appeared in all 59 games for the Thrashers this
season, scoring 34 points (14 goals, 20 assists). The 6-0,
195-pound forward was claimed off waivers from the Nashville
Predators on Jan. 10, 2009, and played in 180 consecutive games for
Atlanta, posting 124 points (49 goals, 75 assists).
Peverley has 144 points (56 goals, 88 assists) in 253 career NHL
games with Nashville and Atlanta. The Kingston, Ontario, native
also played 177 AHL games for Portland and Milwaukee, totaling 168
points (56 goals, 112 assists), and 80 ECHL games with South
Carolina and Reading, scoring 73 points (34 goals, 39 assists).
