McBride Lands in Austria

Olimpija Ljubljana (Austria) announced Thursday the addition of former St. Lawrence standout Brock McBride, who joins the team after starting the 2011-12 campaign with the Belfast Giants of the Elite Ice Hockey League (EIHL). 

McBride, a native of Cornwall, Ontario, appeared in 15 games with Belfast, contributing 11 goals and 12 assists for 23 points.

The former Saints standout spent the 2010-11 season with teams in the American Hockey League (AHL) and East Coast Hockey League (ECHL). As a member of the Elmira Jackals of the ECHL, McBride scored nine times and added 23 assists for 32 points in only 27 games. He was called up to the AHL for 33 games split between the Houston Aeros and the Milwaukee Admirals before finishing the season with the ECHL's South Carolina Stingrays for the playoffs.

Prior to turning pro in 2009, McBride excelled at St Lawrence, leading the team in scoring in 2007-08 and finishing his collegiate career with 40 goals and 110 points in 140 games.
