DiLauro Opts to Play in Japan

Former St. Lawrence standout Ray DiLauro has agreed to terms with the Nippon Paper Cranes of the Asia League Ice Hockey (ALIH) for the 2011-12 season.

DiLauro spent the 2010-11 season with the Missouri Mavericks of the Central Hockey League (CHL). In 65 games with Missouri, the Bensalem, Pennsylvania native scored 10 goals and assisted on 29 goals for 39 points.

A ninth-round draft pick (246th overall) of the Atlanta Thrashers in the 1999 National Hockey League (NHL) Entry Draft, DiLauro spent four seasons in Europe prior to joining Missouri. Playing in Germany, Austria and Italy, DiLauro competed in 186 games, compiling 78 points, including 19 goals.

After concluding his collegiate career in 2002, DiLauro spent four seasons in the American Hockey League (AHL) and East Coast Hockey League (ECHL). In 62 AHL games, he amassed five goals and 20 assists. DiLauro contributed 99 points, including 28 goals, in 185 games in the ECHL. He had his best offensive season in 2004-05 with the ECHL's Wheeling Nailers where he posted 52 points on 12 goals and 40 assists in 72 games played. 

In four seasons in Canton, New York, DiLauro registered 13 goals and 43 assists in 140 games.
