McBride Heading South

NORTH CHARLESTON, SC - The South Carolina Stingrays and Head Coach/Director of Hockey Operations Cail MacLean announced today that the team has acquired the rights to former St. Lawrence forward Brock McBride from the Elmira Jackals.

McBride, 24, dressed in 27 games with the Jackals scoring 32 points (9g, 23a) and is currently with the Milwaukee Admirals of the American Hockey League where he has one assist in four games. Last season, the Cornwall, ON native appeared in 38 games with the Alaska Aces of the ECHL grabbing 12 goals and 13 assists for 25 points. McBride also skated in 22 total contests with the Sycracuse Crunch and Hartford Wolf Pack of the AHL netting five points (1g, 4a).

Prior to turning pro, the 5-foot-10, 192-pound center spent four seasons at St. Lawrence University registering 110 points (40g, 70a) in 140 games. While with the Saints, McBride led the team in scoring during his junior season, finished second in points in his senior campaign and shared the ice with current Stingrays defenseman Derek Keller from 2006-2009.
