Carvel a Natural Choice to Replace Prier

CANTON — When former St. Lawrence associate head coach Bob Prier left to take over the Princeton program, SLU head coach Joe Marsh had to find a suitable replacement fast.
Marsh didn’t know in the offseason that he would be taking a medical leave and said that choosing Greg Carvel, a 1993 SLU alum and captain, was simple.
“Carvel coached in the Stanley Cup,” Marsh said at the time. “There aren’t many who can say that.”
