Brahmas Retain Services of Curran

NORTH RICHLAND HILLS, Texas - The Texas Brahmas announced the re-signing of former St. Lawrence standout Alex Curran for the 2011-12 Central Hockey League season.

In his rookie year, Curran netted 23 points (10 G, 13 A) in 62 games. The Perth-Andover, NB native made his mark with the purple and black contributing a pair of game winning goals. In the postseason, Curran had an assist in Game Two against Odessa.

Prior to inking with the Brahmas, the 6-foot-2, 200 pound forward, played at the collegiate level for four seasons with St. Lawrence. As a member of the Saints, Curran recorded 62 points (19 G, 43 A) in 153 games played.

Brahmas Head Coach Dan Wildfong is optimistic with the return of Curran for the upcoming season.

"Alex is the type of player who continued to improve throughout the season, and with a year of experience under his belt and a sound defensive mind, I believe Curran has the potential for a breakthrough season," said Wildfong.
