One on One with Rich Peverley
The following article featuring former St. Lawrence standout
Rich Peverley appeared in the January 31 issue of the Charleston
Post and Courier.
Atlanta Thrashers centerman Rich Peverley played for the South
Carolina Stingrays during the 2004-05 season and was second on the
team with 30 goals. Two years later, Peverley had worked his way up
to the NHL with the Nashville Predators. Peverley, who signed a
two-year $2.6 million contract extension in October, is on pace to
score 20 goals this season. Peverley talked about his season with
the Stingrays and playing along side NHL All-Star Ilya Kovalchuk
when he went One on One with The Post and Courier's Andrew
Miller.
When someone mentions the Stingrays or Charleston, what comes to
mind?
"A lot of great memories. It was my first year pro. I'm so
grateful that I signed with the Stingrays because it was such a
great organization. The Zucker family was just incredible."
