McBride Pushes for More Playing Time

Last year, forward Brock McBride couldn’t wait to get out of Syracuse. Now, he hopes for a long stay.
The difference comes down to every player’s flashpoint — playing time. McBride didn’t think he got enough of it as a rookie in 2009-10. His drive to earn more now has been evident in the team’s first three practices, where he’s often looked like the best scorer among the early training camp crop.
“Well, I have some confidence this year,” he said. “I didn’t have much of that last year, playing three shifts a game. This is the way I’m used to playing.”
