CANTON — When St. Lawrence goalie Robby Moss heads to Appleton Arena for practice every day, he doesn't know if he'll start that weekend.

He hasn't known since St. Lawrence's first game of the year, a 5-5 tie against Minnesota. Moss started that game and didn't appear in a game again until head coach Joe Marsh told him on gameday Friday that he would start against Quinnipiac.

"When you're sitting on the bench, it makes you really think how much you love playing hockey and how much it doesn't feel too good sitting on the bench watching your team play," said Moss, who was St. Lawrence's only returning goalie with game experience this season. "It's always just a motivation and a kick in the butt to realize what you need to do to get into some playing time."
