McKenna Returns to Albany
ALBANY, NY - Goaltender Mike McKenna, a former St. Lawrence standout, has been assigned from New Jersey to Albany after spending 18 days at the NHL level. The announcement was made by Albany General Manager Chris Lamoriello.
McKenna, 27, was recalled to New Jersey on Nov. 19 and made his NHL season debut the next night in his hometown of St. Louis. He made 24 saves in a 3-2 loss. His other appearance came during the Dec. 2 contest against Montreal. McKenna made 29 saves, including one during apenalty shot, in 58 minutes of relief.
This season in Albany, McKenna has played in seven contests, posting a 2-4-0-0 record with a 3.72 goals-against average and a .882 save percentage.
In 2009-10, McKenna set Devils' AHL records for goals-against average (2.47) and save percentage (.921).
