Peverley Named NHL's Third Star of Week

NEW YORK -- Atlanta Thrashers center Rich Peverley, a former St. Lawrence standout, was named the NHL's 'Third Star' for the week ending Jan. 18, the League announced Jan. 19.

Peverley recorded six points (one goal, five assists) and a +5 rating in three games, helping the Thrashers post a 2-1-0 record. Claimed on waivers from the Nashville Predators on Jan. 10, Peverley recorded the overtime winner and added two assists in a 4-3 victory over the Toronto Maple Leafs Jan. 16 in just his second game in a Thrashers uniform. Peverley closed the week with three assists in a 7-2 win over his former club at Nashville Jan. 17.
