Reading Acquires Rank
READING, PA -- The Reading Royals of the ECHL, affiliate of the
Toronto Maple Leafs of the National Hockey League and the Toronto
Marlies of the American Hockey League, today announced that the
team has acquired the rights to former St. Lawrence forward Kyle
Rank from the Cincinnati Cyclones in completion of the future
considerations element of a March 8, 2009 trade.
Rank (6’1/185) (26) split last season between the Cyclones,
where he scored four goals and assisted on twelve others (sixteen
points) and picked up fourteen penalty minutes in twenty-three
regular season games, and the Portland Pirates of the AHL. Rank,
who had a stellar four-year collegiate career at St. Lawrence
University prior to turning pro, played forty-four AHL regular
season games with Portland last season, scoring eight points
(1g-7a) and accumulating sixteen penalty minutes. Rank also split
the post-season between Portland, where he played five playoff
games, and Cincinnati, where he scored three goals in five playoff
games for the Cyclones.
