Timeout with the Times: Brandon Bollig

The following article featuring St. Lawrence forward Brandon Bollig appeared January 15 on the Watertown Daily Times Web site.

BRANDON BOLLIG
Class: Freshman
Position: Forward
Height, weight: 6'3", 215 lbs.
Hometown: St. Charles, Mo.
Favorite player: Jarome Iginla, Calgary Flames
Junior team: Lincoln Stars, United States Hockey League

WDT: How enjoyable was your first Clarkson-St. Lawrence series?

Bollig: I couldn't ask for anything better. It's a great rivalry to have at this school and in college hockey in general. It brought me back to a couple of the old rivalries I had in juniors, and it was even better. Both rinks were packed with fans, and it's going to be even better once we get our students back.

WDT: Coach Marsh has said a couple times that you are "heavyweight" tough. If anyone does their research, they'll see the YouTube clips of your fights in juniors, and a specific Web site displaying your battles in the form of a fight card. What's your reaction to this?

Bollig: I didn't think that was going to happen. That was just kind of my game in juniors. Once I saw that people started posting things on YouTube, you just kind of laugh. That didn't change the way I play or make me want to fight more.
