Parenteau Inks Deal with Idaho
BOISE, Idaho – Former St. Lawrence forward Casey Parenteau
has agreed to terms with the ECHL’s Idaho Steelheads.
Parenteau, 23, comes to Idaho out of Saint Lawrence University
where he posted 23 points (8 goals, 15 assists) in 26 games during
the 2008-2009 season, which was cut short because of a leg injury
in January. He finished his college career with 41 goals, leading
Idaho’s head coach to expect big things.
“He’s still got to prove himself at the professional
level,” head coach Derek Laxdal said of the White Bear Lake,
MN, native. “But we’re looking forward to seeing him
win a job on one of the top two lines of our club.”
Parenteau joins Matt McKnight, former Union forward Matt Cook,
former Quinnipiac defenseman Matt Sorteberg, Michael Olson, former
Princeton forward Brandan Kushniruk, Weston Tardy, Alan Tallarini,
and former Clarkson defenseman Tyrell Mason as players who have
agreed to terms with the Steelheads for the 2009-10 season.
