Newest Thrasher Peverley will Play Center

Rich Peverley already had reached the airport on Saturday for a
12:30 p.m. flight to San Antonio and a return to minor league
hockey.
That’s when he got the call. Don’t go, the Nashville
Predators’ assistant general manager told him. You’re
not leaving the NHL. You’re leaving this organization. The
Thrashers have claimed you off waivers.
Hours later, Peverley was in Atlanta meeting some of his new
teammates. Sunday, he participated in his first Thrashers practice.
And Wednesday, plans call for Peverley not only to play for his new
team but to line up at center, his preferred position.
