Miskovic Nets First Goal as Professional
MANCHESTER, N.H. -- Zach Miskovic's first professional goal got
the Hershey Bears going Saturday night at Verizon Wireless Arena as
they rolled to a 4-1 victory over the Manchester Monarchs.
Hershey opened the scoring with the game's only goal in the first
period. Rookie defenseman Zach Miskovic buried a shot past
Manchester goaltender Jonathan Bernier from the right circle for
his first pro goal. The former St. Lawrence University standout
scored at 14:54 from Keith Aucoin and Boyd Kane to give the BEARS a
1-0 lead after one.
The Bears got a little bit more breathing room in the second
with goals from Jay Beagle and Oskar Osala to make the score 3-0
after two. Beagle's goal came just 2:30 into the second, from
Osala, and Osala then scored his own goal at 14:28 from Darren Reid
and Sean Collins. With the shot total at 27-17 in favor of Hershey
through 40 minutes, the Chocolate and White took a three-goal
advantage into the final frame.
The teams would trade goals to round out the scoring in the final
20 minutes. Francois Bouchard picked up his sixth of the year at
the 4:26 mark for Hershey, and Oscar Moller prevented the Monarchs
from being shutout, scoring at 8:29. Michal Neuvirth won his third
game of the season.
