Appleton Arena will look slightly different on the inside at the
beginning of next season.
Last week, a St. Lawrence University trustees board approved
renovation plans for the arena. Jeremy Freeman, the arena's
director of operations, said the cement floor where the cooling
system operates underneath the ice will be replaced. Also, new
boards will be installed around the rink.
Freeman said these repairs are the first for Appleton in
approximately 10 years. The venue has endured thorough remodeling
phases, but has maintained its classic look since opening in 1951.
