Sabres Sign Generous
Buffalo Sabres GM Darcy Regier announced today the Sabres have
signed defenseman Matt Generous to a one-year entry level contract.
Generous was Buffalo’s seventh-round selection (208th
overall) in the 2005 Entry Draft.
Generous will finish this season with the Portland Pirates on an
AHL ATO, and his NHL contract will begin next season.
Generous (5/4/1985, 6’3”, 200 lbs.) recently completed
his senior season at St. Lawrence University, and was named the
ECAC’s Outstanding Defensive Defenseman. Generous had 15
points (7+8) and was +5 in 33 games in his senior year. A native of
Cheshire, CT, Generous finished his four-year college career with
56 points (18+38) in 139 games, and was a four-time member of the
ECAC All-Academic Team.
