While the Flyers first-year ECHL affiliate Mississippi Sea Wolves
were preparing to hit the road for a divisional matchup against the
New York Rangers-affiliated Charlotte Checkers in North Carolina,
Sea Wolves forward Chase Trull was instructed to travel to
Philadelphia instead.
Not expecting the phone call that would see him sign a
professional tryout contract Friday morning and make his first
American Hockey League appearance that same night against the
Hershey Bears, Trull was a bit nervous.
Trull debuted for the Phantoms wearing number 22 and shuffled on
lines with David Laliberte, Claude Giroux, Jonathon Kalinski and
Garrett Klotz. Trull got a quick taste of the intense ferocity that
two AHL teams can have towards each other, especially when Phantoms
winger Matt Clackson and Bears defenseman Greg Amadio dropped their
gloves just two seconds into the game.
