DiLauro Calls Austria Home
The LIWEST EHC Black Wings Linz of the Erste Bank Eishockey Liga (Austria) announced the addition of defenseman Ray DiLauro, a former St. Lawrence standout. DiLauro spent the 2007-08 campaign with the Duisburg Foxes (Germany).
DiLauro heads to Austria after spending two seasons playing in Germany. He spent the 2006-07 with the Krefeld Penguins, playing in 51 games in which he totaled two goals and 11 assists. Last season, DiLauro joined Duisburg and compiled seven goals and 18 assists in 55 contests.
Prior to playing in Europe, DiLauro spent five seasons competing in the American Hockey League and East Coast Hockey League. He played 49 games with the Cleveland Barons of AHL in 2005-06, amassing five goals and 19 assists. DiLauro played for four ECHL clubs, including Wheeling in 2004-05 where he scored 12 goals and added 40 assists in 72 games.
The Bensalem, Pennsylvania native, represented the Saints from 1998 through 2002. In 140 contests, DiLauro scored 13 goals and set up 43 tallies.
