
Taylor Inks Contract with Marlies
TORONTO -- Mike Penny, General Manager of the Toronto Marlies, announced today that the club has signed former St. Lawrence forward Max Taylor to an AHL standard players contract. In keeping with club policy, terms of the contract were not disclosed.
Taylor, 24, has played in three games this season for the Marlies, registering one point (goal) and 17 penalty minutes. Taylor scored his first career AHL goal on Friday, March 7 at Syracuse in his first career AHL game.
Taylor appeared in 57 games this season for the Texas Wildcatters of the ECHL, registering 45 points (25 goals, 20 assists). He has registered 47 penalty minutes and a plus-22 rating for the Wildcatters this season. The Ottawa, Ontario native recorded two hat tricks this season for Texas, including a four-point (three goals, one assist) evening on February 8 against the Columbia Inferno. Since January 1, 2008, Taylor has recorded 30 points (15 goals, 15 assists) in 26 games.
Prior to playing for the Texas Wildcatters, the 5'10, 185-pound centre played 145 games for the St. Lawrence University Saints. Taylor recorded 79 points (29 goals, 50 assists) for the Saints from 2003-07.
