St. Lawrence was one of the ECAC Hockey teams that started the season with a busy non-conference skate while waiting for the Ivy League member schools to get their seasons cranked up. Last weekend saw most of the Ivies in action, but the Saints on hiatus, at exactly the wrong time.

St. Lawrence had momentum following a 4-1 home win over nationally ranked New Hampshire on Oct. 26 to cap a run of three straight wins. Then, nothing to do last weekend ahead of this weekend’s home games against Yale and Brown.

“Anytime you get momentum you want to keep the ball rolling, but we had last week off and just had to work hard every day in practice,” senior forward Brock McBride said. “Getting into league play we’re just going to try to do everything we can to come out strong. We like to play at home. The fans at Appleton are great and we want to come out of the weekend with a lead in the ECAC Hockey standings.”
