Portland Summons Macdonald
The Portland Pirates of the American Hockey League (AHL) have
recalled former St. Lawrence defenseman Matt Macdonald from the
Cincinnati Cyclones of the East Coast Hockey League (ECHL).
Macdonald fills the roster spot of Mike Weber, who was recalled by
the Buffalo Sabres.
"He'll be with us for the weekend and then we'll re-evaluate,"
Portland Coach Kevin Dineen said of Macdonald.
Macdonald, who played four seasons at St. Lawrence University
before turning pro in 2005, was scoreless in six games with the
Pirates earlier this season.
In 14 games with the Cyclones, the 6-1, 205-pound defenseman has
one goal and six assists.
