Marlies Ink Taylor
TORONTO -- Mike Penny, General Manager of the Toronto Marlies, announced Wednesday that the club has signed former St. Lawrence centre Max Taylor to a professional try-out contract. In keeping with club policy, terms of the contract were not disclosed.
Taylor, 24, has appeared in 57 games this season for the Texas Wildcatters of the ECHL, registering 45 points (25 goals, 20 assists). He has registered 49 penalty minutes and a plus-23 rating for the Wildcatters this season. The Ottawa, Ontario native has recorded two hat tricks already this season for Texas, including a four-point (three goals, one assist) evening on February 8 against the Columbia Inferno. Since January 1, 2008, Taylor has recorded 30 points (15 goals, 15 assists) in 26 games.
Prior to playing for the Texas Wildcatters, the 5'10, 185-pound centre played 145 games for the St. Lawrence University Saints. Taylor recorded 79 points (29 goals, 50 assists) for the Saints from 2003-07.
