Kings Activate Zeiler
LOS ANGELES –- The Los Angeles Kings have activated former
St. Lawrence forward John Zeiler from the injured reserve list and
have loaned him to the Manchester Monarchs of the American Hockey
League (AHL) for conditioning, Kings President/General Manager Dean
Lombardi announced Monday.
Zeiler, who will turn 26 on Nov. 21, was placed on the injured
reserve list October 3 with a groin strain. Last season the 6-0,
204-pound native of Jefferson Hills, Pa. recorded one point (0-1=1)
and 23 penalty minutes with the Kings. With Manchester last season
he recorded 12 points (6-6=12) and 40 penalty minutes in 45 regular
season games and two points (0-2=2) and eight penalty minutes in
four playoff games. Zeiler was originally selected by Phoenix in
the fifth round (132nd overall) in the 2002 NHL Entry Draft and was
signed by the Kings as an unrestricted free agent on Feb. 17,
2007.
The Kings continue their season-high seven-game homestand tomorrow
(Tuesday) against Anaheim at 7:30 p.m.
