Engineers Hope to Continue Recent Success

TROY — Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute hockey coach Seth Appert has always tried to instill in his players an even keel; 'don't get too high after a victory or two, don't get too down after a defeat or two.'

And after his Engineers, who hadn't won any of their previous 11 games away from home this season, then won at Brown (3-0) and at Yale (2-1) last weekend, Appert said "this was just two games. That doesn't prove much."

However, Appert admitted that he noticed a little bit of an added bounce in the Engineers' collective step earlier in the week. Their confidence got a nice jolt from the two victories. Now, they'd like to avenge an earlier loss or two when they host St. Lawrence tonight and rival Clarkson on Saturday night (both at 7).
