Engineers Eager to Add to Legacy
GREEN BAY, Wisc. — Relaxing for two days in Green Bay and
enjoying the tradition and history of Lambeau Field and the Green
Bay Packers has been nice. Now Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute
players just want to play hockey — and maybe show a little
RPI tradition, too.
The 16th-ranked Engineers, seeded fourth and last in the Midwest,
realize they’ll be facing what most view as the
nation’s best team today when they take on top-ranked North
Dakota in an NCAA Midwest Region tournament game at Green
Bay’s Resch Center (1:30 p.m., EDT).
“We just want to play,” said RPI senior captain John
Kennedy. “We’ve played top teams in the nation before
and beaten them. We just want to get out there and show what we
have.”
