York Makes NHL Debut

COLUMBUS, Ohio -- Former Rensselaer standout Allen York made his National Hockey League (NHL) debut Tuesday, seeing action for Columbus in the Blue Jackets' 4-1 triumph over the Detroit Red Wings.

York, who recorded 37 victories in three seasons with the Engineers, relieved goaltender Steve Mason for two minutes, 33 seconds in the first period. The 22nd Engineers player to compete in the NHL, York did not face any shots.
