TROY — When Rensselaer Polytechnic
Institute’s hockey team takes the ice against UMass-Lowell in
the University of Connecticut’s Tournament on Dec. 29, the
Engineers will reach the halfway point of their 34-game regular
season.
Even casual RPI fans can tell you that the Engineers will take a
3-13-0 overall record into that game, scored just 13 goals among
their 13 games, have been plagued with numerous injuries and are a
young, underclassmen-oriented team.
Four days ago, RPI coach Seth Appert dismissed the team for its
11-day Christmas break.
