HOFFMAN ESTATES, IL - The Chicago Express, proud member of the ECHL and proud affiliate of the NHL's Columbus Blue Jackets, announced today that former Rensselaer goaltender Allen York has been assigned by the Columbus Blue Jackets to the Chicago Express. York has played in four games for Columbus this season, and becomes the first Express player to spend time with the Express and in the NHL in the same season.
York, 22, has compiled a 0-1-0 record to go along with a .878 save percentage and 3.53 goals against average during his time with the NHL's Columbus Blue Jackets. York started his first NHL game on October 29 in Chicago against the Blackhawks, on the same night that Express netminder Paul Dainton earned the first shutout in Express history with a 2-0 win over Toledo at the Sears Centre Arena. York made his NHL debut in a relief appearance against the Detroit Red Wings on October 25.

York completed a three year career at RPI last season. His career 2.47 GAA ranks first all-time among RPI goalies, and his .915 save percentage places him fourth in that category.
York is expected to start on Saturday when the Express battle the Cyclones at the Sears Centre Arena.
