Polacek Once Again Selected as League's Best

TROY — Chase Polacek, two-time ECAC Hockey Player of the Year.

“Yeah, that sounds pretty cool,” Polacek said in his typical humble, understated style Thursday before leaving for Atlantic City to accept the award, officially announced at the ECACH Championship Weekend. The league playoffs semifinals and championship game are at Atlantic City’s Boardwalk Hall for the first of three years, ending a seven-year run at the Times Union Center.

Union coach Nate Lehman was the winner of the Coach of the Year award, Lehman coached the Dutchmen, who were ranked as high as No. 4 in the country, to a 26-9-4 overall record. They won the ECAC regular-season title for the first time (17-3-2). Union expects to earn its first berth in the NCAA Tournament when the fild is announced on Sunday.
