Engineers Talented Enough to Put Run Together
TROY — Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute began the 2009-10
ECAC Hockey season with three victories. Then, the Engineers won
just seven of their remaining 19 (7-9-3) league games.
This season, RPI has had three chances to win successive ECACH
games and failed each time.
Rensselaer has not won four straight regular-season league games
since the 2001-02 season. That's nine seasons ago. Now, as
fifth-year head coach Seth Appert points out, most RPI teams since
then simply weren't good enough to “put together long
streaks.”
