Helfrich Responds to Challenge

The Record
TROY – Much of Rensselaer Polytechnic
Institute’s hopes for a successful 2010-11 hockey season
rested on the shoulders of senior winger Tyler Helfrich.
He knew that – and still does – and he’s scoring
at the best rate of his RPI career. He has three game-winners among
his 10 goals and the Engineers are 7-0-2 in the nine games in which
Helfrich has scored a goal (he had two in a 6-2 triumph at
Brown).
With 19 points, Helfrich is third on the Engineers’ scoring
list and is tied for the team lead in goals with ECACH scoring
champ and longtime linemate Chase Polacek.
