The Toronto Marlies open their season on the road, but one player will feel at home against the Binghamton Senators on Saturday night at the Broome County Veterans Memorial Arena.
Johnson City native Jerry D'Amigo will start his second professional season with the Marlies in the same building where he used to watch the hometown team that is now an opponent.
"It's going to be good to start off (the season) where I started off," D'Amigo said. "My family and friends have been excited about this for a while. I have aunts and uncles coming in from New York City and everything. It brings my family closer together, as well."
